Guča Trumpet Festival

The most popular festival in Serbia was held in 1961 for the first time next to Guča’s St Archangel Gabriel Church. Today, this is one of the three most visited festivals in the country.
Also known as “Dragačevski sabor”, the festival gathers more than 300,000 visitors annually with about 1,000 performers.

The competition that traditionally begins with performing the festival hymn “Sa Ovčara i Kablara”, sparked off many of the famous trumpet players. The program is diverse consisting of the Participants Parade, Traditional Dragačevo Wedding, Midnight Concert, etc., along with the popular brass bends performance.

What makes the festival even more interesting is the fact that the program has never been changed ever since its beginnings. Hence, genuine preservation of local tradition and heritage.
